  1. I just recently purchased a condo. I am a first time buyer and had a lot of help to get some financing. I honestly don't see what the Realtor did to earn approx $6K. For financing I had to get myself. Of course he "knew a person who could get me financed no problem" (Lie)

He drove me around to places that I already found via MLS so he didn't really do anything to help me find my "dream place" except burn a couple of dollars of gas and make meaningless chit-chat with me.

I don't see where he protects me or the seller because the Title Company does all the work during Escrow.

My biggest disappointment was that there was no empathy that I am taking a big step in life buying a place. He never calls to tell me what is going on during the deal, I always have to chase him. I think when all is done the $6K should have gone on down payment.

Please enlighten me as to how a realtor helps me as a buyer.

  2. I agree that realtors played a large role in this mess that we are in. A family friend and his wife were comvinced by a dishonest realtor in 2005 to buy a 600k condo in san diego that they realtor said would double in value in two years. He should be sued as they are suffering now, the condo is worth 400k and they are stuck for years. All Realtors Suck.

a realtor in our neighborhood attaches his business information and picture to a flag and has some kid stick them in front of everyones home on Independence Day. I think this is cowardly and cheesy. And by the way he never takes them down for everyone. In my eyes he uses the flag as a condom.
    What do you guys think?

  4. Using the American flag in advertising is a federal offense. Try and open a complaint with the federal attorney. It's not cheesy but disrepectful to what it represents.

  5. I guess nothing would happen to the slimeball that uses the American flag to advertise.

The United States Flag Code establishes advisory rules for display and care of the flag of the United States. It is Section 1 of Title 4 of the United States Code (4 U.S.C. § 1 et seq). This is a U.S. federal law, but there is no penalty for failure to comply with it and it is not widely enforced — indeed, the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that punitive enforcement would conflict with the First Amendment right to freedom of speech. (A Flag Desecration Amendment has been proposed from time to time and, if ever passed into law, would override Supreme Court rulings on this matter.)

He is still slime though. All the sacrifice for what the flag represents and he uses it to promote his business. Sheesh...
